Cape Verde fishing experience

Looking for the best fishing experience ever? Go for the Cape Verde fishing experience with locals. You go spearfishing from the beach with a local fisherman. Of course, every fish you catch ends up at the grill during a beach barbecue Cabo Verde style.

Cape Verde fishing experience

The locals of Cape Verde often go fishing. For example, meet Jailson. Every day, you can find him in the waters around Sal to catch fish. Using the harpoon, he can perfectly select the fish he wants to catch. Some of the fish, he takes home to feed his family. The larger part he sells to restaurants.

You can join Jailson on his fishing trip. He provides you with a wetsuit, snorkeling gear, and a harpoon. Of course, he will teach you how to use it. Certainly, you will have a great time in the water. It’s a nice adventure, and really a challenge too. So, if you’re interested in fishing, grab your chance to do this Cape Verde style!

Also, Cape Verde style: grill the fish on a small beach barbecue. This is the second part of your Cape Verde fishing experience. No better taste then fresh caught fish! Especially since you caught it yourself. After the hard work of fishing, just sit back, and relax. Enjoy the company of Jailson and his family. They take care of the food and drinks.

Take plenty of time to chat, eat, and have fun living the beach life. The Cape Verdean people have their own stressless, open minded, hospitable and laid back way of life. This is known as ’Morabeza’. Let’s find out of Morabeza suits you too!

Support the locals

By joining this Cape Verde fishing experience, you engage in fair tourism. You directly support the local family that guides you during the fishing and provides the barbecue. Because the travelers pay a fair price, the Cape Verdean family receives a fair income.

Since the locals are proud and enthusiast to welcome you, you will have a great time together. Of course, Jailson takes care of your safety in the water. The Cape Verde fishing experience is always private to your family or party. So, you receive all attention and the fishing spot is all yours.

No fishing, no problem

If you don’t like the total Cape Verde fishing experience, but you do like some next level beach life, that’s fine too. You can join a barbeque with locals. In this case contact us please, so we can make arrangements for you.

Rather skip both the fishing and the beach part, but meet locals anyway? Also possible! Several families of Cape Verde open the doors of their house for you. Join them for a delicious lunch or dinner. Traditional dishes like Cachupa will conquer your heart. Same goes for the Cape Verdeans you get to know.

5-star review from Niels Kik

After putting on our wetsuit and snorkles we entered the sea from the beach. It was a great experience and we saw all kind of ocean life. We ended up with 12 good size fish. After cleaning the fish, we drove back to Santa Maria and had an awesome barbecue on the beach. I would recommend other people to try this amazing activity!
